If you think you can pass all the requirements I say go for it. Depending on how bad your dyslexia is I don't see it being an automatic disqualifier.

For years people tried to diagnose me with a disorder as a child. The result was that I felt like I couldn't do what others did, and that I was somehow not smart enough. The truth is, I, and you, can do anything you want. Anything at all, and you are not limited by a disorder. It means you may have to work harder, but you aren't limited by it.

My best friend, just biked across the entire united states by himself, and he has severe dislexia. He's one of the smartest people I know, and can do anything else he puts his mind to.

I have found that by believing I had a disorder caused me to do things poorly, but today I know differently. I'm setting out for a career in the military, and in the meantime, while I'm going to college, I'm planning on being a volunteer firefighter. So you can do the same. You should definitely go for it.

definently, David.

J, you might need to plan ahead a bit, tho. Start talking to your dept. early to see what kinds of tests you'll have to pass, etc. If you're diagnosed they might have some prevision for letting you take it without a time limit or something like that. always find out your options!

Good luck!
